'You can’t get to where you want to get without handling what’s right in front of you,' Dolphins coach Brian Flores said Monday.
Flores said he will not discuss Miami's playoff chase with his players.
The Dolphins have made the playoffs once in the last 12 years, so it's kind of a big deal.
With some smoke-and-mirrors and a sprinkling of Jay Ajayi and Cam Wake, Miami made it to a playoff game at chilly Pittsburgh in the 2016 season and were smacked down, 30-12.
Ryan Tannehill didn't play that day. If the Dolphins make the playoffs in 2020 it will be a drive led by Tua Tagovailoa. Unless, of course, it's led by Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Will it be thumbs up or thumbs down for Tua? For the Dolphins?

Remember — there will be at least seven teams, one extra, in each conference playoffs this year. It could even be two extra, for a total of eight, if coronavirus cause the cancellation of some games.
At the moment, the Dolphins sit sixth, in alignment with a trip to Nashville and Tannehill's Titans. We'll see.
Miami's December opponents are as follows:
Cincinnati (2-8-1)
Kansas City (10-1)
New England (5-6)
at Las Vegas (6-5) (on a Saturday, Dec. 26)
at Buffalo (8-3)

It would surprising if Miami didn't beat the Bengals and lose to the Chiefs, to sit at 8-5 with three games to play.
Flip a coin on the last three games. If Miami wins one, they're 9-7 and maybe in the playoffs. If Miami wins two, they should be sitting pretty at 10-6.
As for the professionals, here are the current odds for Miami to make the playoffs:
Football Outsiders: 62 percent
FiveThirtyEight: 56 percent
Vegas Odds On Miami Dolphins
New York Times: 53 percent
These numbers are fun to look at. I can assure you of one person who won't look at these projections, because he just doesn't care — Flores, the Dolphins' coach.
'I understand the question and I know you say that every other team’s thinking about it,' Flores said. 'Maybe you know more than I do from that standpoint. My dealings with coaches around this league and players around this league is that they try to deal with what’s in front of them.'
